Paradox Rift - Ancient vs Future Pokemon Release November 2023
JParadox Rift Incoming November 2023 - Pre Order Available Now!
Another expansion to the Pokemon TCG world is on its way this autumn with the introduction of Paradox Rift.
While November still seems like a long way off, Pokemon fans still have the eagerly anticipated English Pokemon 151 to quench their thirst in the mean time as well as Obsidian Flames & Ruler of the Black Flame still hot on the scene with the new Tera type mons which were met with some mixed reviews prior to release, but have since established themselves as the next hot thing! Who doesn’t like new shiny Charizard cards right?
And the rapidly approaching release of the Japanese expansion Raging Surf (sv3a) which will give us a little insight into what is to come..
But we turn our attention to the near future with the next main expansion in the English TCG, Paradox Rift.
Those of you who have played the Scarlet & Violet games will know there are Ancient & Future Pokemon forms.
One of the main reveals we have seen and loved is in the shape of this bold looking Paradox Pokemon Brute Bonnet. On it’s own it doesn’t strike as the most ‘wow factor’ Pokemon, but the artists at Pokemon are on top form bringing it to life with this art style, take a look.
As news continues to unfold, we can expect a good range of cards including 34 Illustrator Rares, 28 Ultra Rares or FATs as we affectionately call them on the streaming scene (Full Art Trainers) 15 Special Arts and around a half dozen Gold cards… Can’t go wrong pulling Gold!
Paradox Rift appears to be larger than previous expansions with around 182 cards in the base set itself and as we approach the release date, you can expect the specific release dates of all the usual goodies in their different forms from ETBs, Booster Bundles and Booster Boxes.
ETBs will come with two different art stylings meaning your promo card will be of the same vain. The stylings will feature both Ancient & Future Paradox mons in the shape of Roaring Moon for Ancient and Iron Valiant for Future. You can expect the usual sleeves, energy cards and extras one comes to expect from an ETB.
What you can find on the Pokemon Website:
Dive into the clouds and explore a land that appears to be unbound by time! With ferocious attacks, Ancient Pokémon like Roaring Moon ex and Sandy Shocks ex appear alongside artificial Future Pokémon like Iron Valiant ex and Iron Hands ex. Meanwhile, Garchomp ex, Mewtwo ex, and others Terastallize to gain new types, as Armarouge ex, Gholdengo ex, and more Pokémon ex join the fray. Adventure awaits as timelines collide in the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Paradox Rift expansion!

As always the English expansion is made up of multiple Japanese expansions, in this case: Raging Surf due for release on 22nd of September and the new twin sets: Ancient Roar & Future Flash due in October so again, before the release of the English expansion, the Japanese sets will give us all the indication we need as to what Paradox Rift will yield. If you didn't see our Raging Surf blog, there is a breakdown of all the main feature cards that will give you some indication, but never the less, here's a little sneak peak...
As we approach closer to release, we will send out updates on social media and ask the community what they think and as ever, if you are looking for a trusted retailer for your collections, look no further.
