Pokemon Glory of Team Rocket!
Well Well Well..... Yes Pokemon fans! Now that Heatwave Arena has been released the journey towards Glory is upon us.
The Glory of Team Rocket is the next set in the line up of releases due in less than a month's time! Of course we will be holding a pre order period for the Booster Boxes which you can find here. *NOTE: If the GoTR Booster Box appears to be out of stock, hit the restock notification on the listing. This will ensure that you are pinged an automatic email as soon as stock numbers are adjusted.

We are now less than 10 days away from the release of Glory of Team Rocket and its been a bit of a turbulet pre order release to say the least! But before we get to the juicy gossip... Lets take a look at what reveals have come out since the last update!
This Zacian concept art is the core inspiration for the Zamazenta we will see in the set. Will we get both? Surley that would make sense, no?
Ok... So there has been some upheaval around this release and yes you guessed it, it's to do with the price point.
If you have been around japanese pokemon for the last couple of years or more, you'll know that Japanese Pokemon prices are either amazing, or shocking. We are in a bit of a boom at the moment, much like 2023 and 2020 just to name a couple of points in time when things got a bit cray cray!
That being said, it is disheartening as retailer in the space, predominantly dealing in Japanese product, that we get harassed and hounded online because of our price point considering it is completely out of our control due to the craziness happening in Japan!
Some are arguing that it is cheaper on ebay... Maybe so, you're also going to hve to add duty on top of that and if you didn't read the description properly, you're probably yet to realise that a lot (not all) of these sellers use your money to buy their stock, hence why you will be waiting 2-3 weeks for deliver AFTER release.
We understand price is an improtant factor but we recently were referenced in a private Pokemon group of nearly 50k memebers for the UK by a member and fellow seller Matt... Matt breaks down why the prices are the way they are. Big thank you to Matt!
There is obviously a lot more nuanced factors involved, but this summary is pretty good and hopefully educational to the keyboard warriors out there! Tak a look:
Like I say, it's a fairly round about way of explaining it but I think Matt has done a great job of highlighting that we/him and all the other reputable UK sellers and retailers out there don't deserve the torches and pitchforks... We want to do great prices and a lot of the time we do!
Sometimes we take on new releases just so we have it, when prices are crazy like this, margins in Pokemon cards keep the lights on... No Yachts are being bought with all this supposed "scalping"

So as of 21/03/2025 we are off to a flying start and very much excited to see what the next 3 weeks brings us!

Where it began...
Ok… Where to start with this one.
Prepare for trouble..... Make it double. You get it right?!
Anyway, let's get to it..
If you’re semi old (millennial) like me then, you grew up remembering the first iterations of Pokemon such as Base Set/Jungle/Fossil etc and buying those packs for £1.99 back in the day!
Well not too long after these initial sets that frankly took the world by storm like nothing else back then, we also got a set depicting the infamous Team Rocket and the Pokemon they handled. Much like the Gym Series sets that came shortly after Team Rocket which are what we believe Battle Partners sv9 (Trainers Pokemon) to be based on. It’s no surprise that the new Team Rocket set would follow the same fate.

In a little bit of a random reveal from what is potentially the Spanish version of Pokemon came a Destined Rivals update in regards to some official artwork... Will we see this with the Japanese Glory of Team Rocket? Who knows, but this is more of a Destined Rivals updated:
Update: 17/02/25
So we are a little way off getting any juicy updates for GoTR, but we have created a few graphics just out of pure excitement and anticipation of this new Team Rocket set which have been hugely popular on social media! Lets take a peek!
Due to release in April 2025, which seems like a far away announcement to have been made back in 2024. There is a reason for this however, in April 2025, it will have been 25 years since the release of the first Team Rocket expansion and we fully expect this to be one of the highlights of the year even though we’re only 3 days into the year at the point of writing this.
You know the drill though, as soon as news, card reveals and anything else about the new Team Rocket set comes out, we’ll let you know with emails, social media posts and obviously updates to our blog here.
But for now, all we have is this cheeky fan made pack art which has spurred us on to try and design one for ourselves!
Also, looking back at some of the Rocket reboots we've had over the years has gotten us even more excited! We know that this is going to be a flashy modern set but we're hoping for a little taste of the classic days. One of our top classic picks is this 20th anniversary promo! Which yes, isn't as classic as most Team Rocket stuff that we've had in the past, but it certainly is badass!
